Paul thanks the Philippians for being partners in the gospel, not just with prayer, people, or positive encouragement, but through giving money. But this generosity does not follow the normal calculus of human finance: something more is going on. There is a paradox to their generosity, a generosity which mrrors God's extravagant generosity to them in the Lord Jesus Christ.
