Many times we look for a sign from God, for guidance, or for proof. But He has granted us many signs, which are designed to stimulate and confirm faith in Him. Ahaz, the Davidic king of Jerusalem, is an unbeliever, and when God invites him to ask for a sign, he refuses. God gives a sign anyway (for He is unstoppable in His purposes and will keep His promises), the sign of Immanuel, God with us.
