In this introduction to the Ten Commandments, we learn that the Ten Commandments are about God (his character and rescue), Liberty (negative commandments leave great latitude to creatively, prayerfully, and thoughtfully work out the positive implication), True Humanity (the Commandments nurture and preserve real human life for God's covenant partners in tune with their being created in His image), and Christ (we cannot keep them on our own strength, but we know his forgiveness first, then his emowerment through the Holy Spirit as he turns the Commands into Promises)
