Latest sermon:
Jesus ascended bodily and historically to sit at the right hand of the Father. Right hand indicates power and universal rule, sitting means he has finished his saving work. Jesus' ascension indicates his return to glory, the first human perfectly in God's presence, and the promise that through him we all will bodily be present with God in glory. He will return as he has gone, as judge over all, but he is also the saviour. And the Scripture is clear that his physical absence means his spiritual presence everywhere, which is to our comfort and help.
