The infant church had three potential de-railers: persecution, corruption, and distraction. When faced with the good problem of administering food to the greek widows, the apostles along with the church dealt with it in a way that  honoured both the physical needs of the widows and the need of the apostles to remain devoted to prayer and the life-giving ministry of the word.
