In impossible situations, God is present-and acts-in surprising ways if we will see. Elishah's servant's eyes were opened by God to see the multitude of God's army. When we feel surrounded, God is still absolutely in charge. God opens our eyes often, though, when we are outside our comfort zone, and when we must rely on him.
