1 Kings 10 The Glorious King (August 9 2009)

What was the peak fulfilment of God's promises in the Old Testament? What did it look like when the the promises of a people, a secure land, God's presence, and blessing were met most comprehensively before Christ? The visit of the Queen of Sheba to Solomon gives a glimpse: a kingdom and king of glorious wealth and wisdom to which the nations came. Solomon was not God's promised forever king but the grandeur of the kingdom illustrates and prepares us for the excellence of the Kingdom of God under the rule of the Lord Jesus Christ, whom we must glorify, and to whom we must come.
