Our SJR Summer Sermon Series for 2025 is the Story of God. The series begins June 22nd, and concludes August 24th, with a special summary sermon on August 31st, Labour Day weekend. Our conviction is that God reveals Himself in the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. In a 9 week series, we encounter the God who Speaks, pursuing a relationship with us; the God who Dwells, rescuing and adopting us as His children; and the God who Reigns, gathering and sending us as ambassadors for His Kingdom. Each sermon focuses on the gracious action of God towards His people, touches on a particular theological theme, and helps us respond to an important life question.
On Sunday evenings after the service, and coffee and fellowship, we will introduce a new Bible Study group (meeting from 8-9pm in the Chapel) open to all. For nine weeks we will study the sermon text for the following Sunday, giving you a chance to think about the text during the week. This study begins on June 15th, and lasts only 9 weeks. We hope you will join us for this summer study, and grow in your knowledge and love of God who loves us so much.
Through this series, we are invited into a deeper knowledge of the beauty and goodness of Jesus as we see how the Bible (Scripture) reveals the comprehensive salvation we have in Christ. In knowing more about God’s action - past, present, and future - we can more deeply know our own part in the Story of God as we enter it, participate in it, and share it with others.
