Our SJR Sermon Series in Winter 2026 is 1 Peter: Life Away From Home. The series begins September 6th, 2026, and concludes the first Sunday of Advent (November 29th). The Apostle Peter is well known both for his insight into Jesus' identity, and his denial of Jesus on the night he was betrayed. Yet by the grace of Jesus, Peter was reinstated as an apostle, led the church in Jerusalem, and matured into a stable witness of the things that Christ said and did. His first letter to Christians in a time of increasing persecution is encouraging still today, since all who follow the living God are sojourners and exiles, a holy nation, a chosen race, whose home is actually in heaven.
