In Exodus we hear the gospel preached: God hears the cry of his people, rescues them from false gods who enslave, gives them new life in his service as free people with 'instructions for life', and shows them precisely how he will live among them. In Exodus we come to terms with the heartbreaking rebelliousness of his people, and see God's persistent desire to have us worship him.
