We need to understand the darkness before we can see the light clearly. One of the darkest moments in the Old Testament is the Exile. God is behind the removal of Israel from the Promised Land as He visits the consequences of disobedience on them. Sin is the real issue that must be resoved before God will begin to fulfill has covenant promises.
