The rich man, who is unnamed, experiences a massive reversal in eternity, as does Lazarus. The former is never named, and ends up in hell, in torment, and is surprised to be there. We learn that hell is real, that repentance is necessary for eternal life, and that the Scriptures have everything contained in them that is necessary for salvation:�that is, they point to Christ.
