What does Jesus have to say to us in these uncertain economic times? He says the fundamental global condition isn't economic meltdown but anxiety. In this passage from Luke, Jesus points out two critical truths to his disciples: first, what they have been given (the kingdom, a place of provision), and second, how to trust the giver (releasing our grip on the stuff of this world, and investing worldy goods for heavenly gain.) Of course, everything we have is from God's hand, and so we invest only what he has first given us.
