One way the Bible understands God's love for us is as a husband who loves his unfaithful wife. Even though God's people Israel have persistently torn the fabric of their communion, his purpose and plan is to rebew the marriave vow-to make a new covenant which supplies what is needed for the bride to desire and serve her husband.
