We live in a world that no longer says, "You shall not commit adultery," but says, "you should do whatever makes you happy;" the world says that love in the erotic sense is the real meaning of life. Adultery is sexual intimacy outside of the marriage covenant by either of the marriage partners. It is the inverse of faithfulness. Adultery rips apart trust and vulnerability. Jesus reminds his diciples that everyone has fallen short of this commandment, but that he is willing and able to make us clean.
