Is Paul really saying that wives should submit to their husbands? Well, yes. Unapologetically yes. As we find out, God-given authority structures exist for the benefit and blessing of those withtin them. Husbands are given the greater part of Paul's attention, and the command (three times) to "love your wives" as Christ loved the church would have been the real shocker in Graeco-Roman times.
